The fully restored farmhouse at Fattoria di Maiano can be enjoyed in so many ways including the self catering vacation apartments or B&B suites. Carved out of an ancient convent and its surrounding complex of houses and barns, these accommodations face the beautiful landscape and the skyline of the hamlet.

Situated in the hills of Fiesole, only a short distance from Florence, Italy, the fully functional farm provides many options to its guests. The large swimming pool and many park areas, the on site restaurant and a wonderful adventure learning more about a real Tuscan farm.

With so many places to explore nearby, guests to Fattoria di Maiano will always have something new to see and do: day at the Roman amphitheater in Fiesole, the museums in Florence, the nearby vineyards in Chianti or hiking the hills of Mugello.

Fattoria di Maiano, not far from the busy city, monuments and museums of Florence consist of a farmhouse which has just recently been restored, reflecting the simple yet functional beauty of the traditional Tuscan decor, mixing the past with the present. There are 11 self catering apartments with either one or two bedrooms and 8 B&B suites with private bathroom.

The apartments all feature AC, heating, satellite TV, WiFi, iron & ironing board, espresso coffee maker, electric kettle, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries, and so much more. All bed, bath and kitchen linens, including a pool towel come with the accommodations. For children up to three years old it is possible to ask for a portable crib with linens. Each accommodation has its own dedicated space for enjoying the landscape, with many tables and chairs, terraces and picnic areas throughout the grounds.

The Adventure Begins Here

Between the Tuscan safari-styled ride on the farm, the onsite restaurant with its predominantly organic menu and the workshops for introducing students of all ages to the wonders of farm living - it is possible that one will never find an excuse to leave the grounds. There ia a garden among the olive groves with games especially for the younger guests, and all this is in addition to the pool and the petting zoo at the farm which includes donkeys, horses, ostriches, rabbits chickens, geese, goats and sheep.

The pool is located in a beautiful position, with an extraordinarily special view of the surrounding hills, and it sets the stage for relax and tranquility. The swimming-pool is 12m x 6m and 1.4m deep. Fattoria di Maiano also features a children’s pool (4mx6m) that is only 0,45m deep. Guests will find lots of lounge chairs, tables and tranquility as the relax poolside. 

Beyond the pool, there are the gardens which are open to everyone. Activities vary and include: a visit to the farm; one of the many trails in the forest; a stroll through the Botanic Gardens and the Parco Romantico della Regina; or you could reserve your space at one of the adventures specifically designed to help you enjoy the landscape more. Just imagine off road exploration, olive oil tastings with a visit to the olive mill, and workshops for the kids focused on animals and nature.

At Fattoria di Maiano, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to taste the flavors from the Tuscan kitchen. The on site restaurant, Lo Spaccio, which is open to the public and their guests, proposes a menu filled with local recipes prepared with genuine ingredients many of which come directly from the organic gardens. Upon reservation, even the guests, who have selected one of the self catering apartments, can enjoy the rich and hearty breakfast buffet.
