A Piece of Tuscany History

The estate is divided into the owners home, which is the main building and where they presently reside, the original farmhouse hosts the accommodations including an extra special little house, restored as an independent rental for a romantic getaway.

The floor plan of Fattoria I Ricci lends itself to small groups, extended families and organized events and meetings since it offers two large rooms – one which is normally used for meals and another which can be used in many ways. There are also many areas throughout the estate which can be transformed into welcoming and convenient areas for meetings, reunions, parties and relax.

The vacation rental apartments are located on the first floor of the farmhouse … and for those who prefer to be totally spoiled while on holiday, they can select the B&B double bedroom suite with private bathroom.

Various Options for Your Holiday

The Suite Pedolino is approximately 30 square meters and not only does it boast a king size bed and private bathroom but it also has a dedicated living room area with a small sofa bed for a child or perhaps friends travelling together who prefer to have their own sleeping arrangements.

The pastel décor of the apartments, with the terracotta floors and wood beam ceiling are brought to life with imaginative use of family antiques and a gorgeous wrought iron bed. The largest of the apartments is Frantoio with approximately 90 square meters and an impressive living room with an original Tuscan fireplace. This spacious and airy room was originally used after the harvest of the grapes and the processing of the famous sweet Tuscan dessert wine, vin santo. There are two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room and a bathroom with a shower.

Apartment Leccino, named as a type of olive plant, is a 2 bedroom apartment rental with enchanting views of the Tuscany landscape, a fully equipped kitchen with fireplace and a living room with a sofa bed.

Or be romantic, and opt to spend an hour or two ... or even more ... at the brand new spa with Jacuzzi hydrotherapy whirlpool, massage area, Finnish SaunaTurkish bath with color therapy, sensorial shower with aromatherapy.  This extra special area is suitable for up to 12 persons or can be reserved for small groups.  The two hour relaxation program is 38 Euros per person and there is the possibility of adding personalized massages upon request.

Warm & Welcoming Hospitality

The 17th century villa on this estate is a remarkable landmark, recalling yesteryear and its pageantry. The owner maintains a lush garden area with the intention of inviting their guests to relax among the ancient cypress and sequoia trees. The crisp clear waters of the swimming pool are the perfect playground for those hot summer temps and the wrought iron garden furniture are comfortable and tempting.

Once you settle down in the shade of the tall trees, or pool side it will be hard to remember that Firenze is only a short distance away via car or train. In addition to the magnificent scenery, the owners go out of their way to tempt you with local recipes at their bi-weekly dinner. Using traditional recipes and local culinary specialties, they propose an evening meal with all the fixings – including their own special wine and extra virgin olive oil. The same care goes into the buffet style breakfast, with homemade cakes, jams and fresh fruit.

The position lends itself to day trips with a panoramic drive among typical Tuscany vineyards, olive groves, hills and valleys. Especially convenient is the train to Florence - which relieves the stress of parking and driving while on holiday. Ask Caterina & Riccardo about the activities nearby such a horseback riding, hiking the chestnut forests and biking the ups and downs of the Apennines.

Meet Caterina Cecchini, the Owner of Fattoria I Ricci

I have lived all of my life at I Ricci, except for a brief period when I went to the University in Florence.  My grandfather Renato bought the estate in the 60's , the same estate where he used to work at the olive oil mill which is still present on the property.  My husband, Riccardo, and I decided to live here with our daughter Emma surrounded by nature, instilling a sincere appreciate for nature and animals.

It is a pleasure for us to meet persons from all over the world.  I especially love to greet all of guests personally, helping them with their daily itinieray through the many beautiful places in Mugello.  Riccardo, who loves wine and good food, is particularly helpful in directing everyone where to find the best of Tuscany.  My mother Gabriella is in charge of the flowers - and the lemons, a true Tuscan tradition - and I warn you not to be surprised if you find her talking to them ... they are like her children!

It is our privlege to open our home to all of you, we look forward to seeing you soon.
