This means that it gets cooling breezes from the coast, which is just 30km due west, ensuring pleasant summer days and evenings. It also means cold winter, so please note that the villa is closed from November through April. You drive through fields of grains and rows of vineyards to get to the villa, making drives to and back out of the villa a pleasure every single time.

While the owners live in the main house nearby, their policy of warm and friendly hospitality includes complete privacy while you're there. Close in case you have need of them, but not visible to encroach on your privacy. The villa was restored with the original stone mason work, with wood beam ceilings, terracotta tiles and large windows to allow lots of natural light. Both apartments are furnished with lovely antiques the owners have selected through the years. They are classic and elegant, as well as comfortable and cozy. The kitchens offer all that you need to prepare delicious meals if you wish to... otherwise, you can head out and dine at a nearby pizzeria or restaurant, with options 10 to 20 minutes away.

Each of the apartments has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one can host 5 and the other 6 guests. The villa sits on the side of the hill so when you first arrive you see only one floor. A grand staircase down leads to the lower level and to the second apartment. Each have a covered loggia with dining table and comfortable sitting areas, making it easy to enjoy dining outdoors and relaxing at all times. The dining area for the Orione apartment is large to host guests of the entire villa, perfect when you rent the villa exclusively and want to spend mealtime together.

Each apartment has everything you will need to make it easy to enjoy your vacation in Tuscany, including dishwasher and pool towels. Laundry facilities are available upon request.

Relax outdoors

While the apartments are comfortable and clean and have everything you need, the gardens are so lovely you will wish to spend most of your time outdoors. The large and clean swimming pool with also call your name, to cool down on warm days but also to just enjoy the quiet, sun and sounds of the countryside.

Families with kids will appreciate the wide open areas that allow them to run around in complete safety, as the estate has closed gates to the road. The pool, however, will likely be the place where the family spends the most time, with sun loungers as well as covered areas right next to it to enjoy the shade and breezes that come from the coast.

There are several areas across the gardens, including many trees that provide shade. You might enjoy spending time at a different spot every single day!

Central location makes it easy to go out

The villa's location is ideal for visiting all of the main sights in Tuscany, with San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Florence, Chianti and Pisa each a possible destination on the days you head out to explore the region.

The villa is located in a rural area, with the closest shops and restaurants from 5 to 20 minutes away. A car is essential for staying at the villa and for exploring, with lovely views all around so driving to nearby towns and back will always be a pleasure. San Gimignano and Gambassi Terme are the closest towns with shops and restaurants and are about 15-20 minutes away. The towns of Volterra, San Miniato and Certaldo are about a 30 minute drive, while the airports at Pisa and Florence are both about an hour and fifteen minute drive. If you love golfing or horseback riding, there are facilities within 20 minutes from the villa. Siena, at slightly more than an hour's drive, will also be a favorite. The coast and beaches are west: the beaches at Cecina, for example, are just about an hour's drive. Every day you can head in a different direction and explore Tuscany, alternating with staying at the villa to relax by the pool and in the gardens.
