Verrazzano apartment in the heart of Chianti
The Verrazzano Apartment is located in the main square in Greve in Chianti, in front of the Giovanni da Verrazzano statue.
The apartment offers all comforts and is a perfect location from which to visit the Chianti area and most of Tuscany.
The apartment has been recently renovated and finely furnished. It is 80 square meters and includes a large double bedroom, a living room with sofa bed (double bed size), a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, plates and silverware, a dining room, a bathroom with shower stall and a small attic.
Even if it is centrally located, the apartment is quiet and has a mixture of rustic and modern fittings. The apartment offers the perfect solution for your holiday accommodation, as it is easy to reach and offers all of the convenience of a home away from home.
Location
Piazza Matteotti is the centre of the village of Greve in Chianti. Here famous shops and wine bars offer local specialities and the most refined wines, where one can sit over a glass of wine under the arcades that surround the piazza and watch life go by. The square is host to the monthly antique market, an annual ritual blessing of horses, open air concerts and a weekly market.
Greve in Chianti is in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region. It is the perfect location from which to tour the wine region and wineries in the area, as well as the important art and cultural centers in Tuscany, including Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Certaldo and Florence. Greve in Chianti is about 25 km from Florence.
Surroundings
Given its central position, Greve is connected to the region with many smaller country roads. It is also close to the larger roads that make moving around Tuscany more convenient, from the A1 motorway (20 km) to the north and the "Superstrada" Firenze-Siena (16 km) to the west.
Greve in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region, makes a perfect base from which to visit the local wineries.
There are many medieval villages in the area that should be visited. One we recommend is Montefioralle, a small medieval hamlet on a hill above Greve that still has its defensive walls surrounding the village. From here it is also easy to reach other Tuscan cities such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena and Florence but we recommend discovering the Chianti area well - visit Panzano in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti and the smaller villages in between.
The area is also dotted with many castles. We recommend visiting the Castello di Vicchiomaggio and the Badia di Passignano.
